eddie marsh
knowlegable brummie
Hi I'm hoping someone can help? I'm looking for any info on the Horn and Marsh family in Duddeston They lived in 82 Willis Street, 41 and 27 Gt Brook Street and 233 St Vincent street between 1912 and 1955.
From what I can piece together my Grandmother Margaret Horn married my grandfather Edward Marsh in 1913 in Birmingham living in 4/41 Gt Brook Street. They had moved from Chichester to Duddeston with the rest of the Horn family some time after 1911.
I have Henry Joseph Horn, (Margarets brother) marrying Ethel Riley in ladywood 1916.
Then according to the elec roll living at 233 St Vincent street 1918-1920 which I think was a barracks at the time as there are many more soldiers living there and his army info is included, (153755 Pte. 33rd Bn MGC).
I believe the 33rd Betalion Machine Gunner Corps is quite famous!
He appears later in 1925 and 1927 living in 5 Brighton Place, St Vincent street, (is this the same place converted into houses?).
Then in 1945 its 5 Back 233 St Vincent St where he stays till 1962.
Can anyone offer any info or photos please?
Other family member are listed in the elec rolls living in 82 Willis st are-
James and Mary Horn, (My gt grand parents).
Sons James and William.
Daughter Margaret with husband Edward Marsh, (my grand parents).
with children Lucy, Ted and Arthur, (my Dad).
Sound like a house-full!
In 1925 Margaret, Edward and their family move to 27 Gt Brook St before moving on to 7 Lyme Green Rd in Kitts Green in 1939-1970ish.
I am looking for any info on these areas or photos. Can anyone help?
Regards Eddie
