Are there likely any photo's of this house or grounds, possibly called Ellerslie before 60's. Think it was demolished around 1968, believe E. Martineau lived there during the 1940/50's.

Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum, Pipjar. I hope someone can help you. Thought I might have been able to myself as "Ellerslie" rang a bell, but images I have are of Ellerslie in Penn, near Wolverhampton and not Ellerslie, Edgbaston.

It appears that an early (19th c. - and perhaps the original) occupant of your Ellerslie was Henry Chance, M.A. of the glassmaking family.

Lt-Col Ernest Martineau was there from at least 1919 until 1951 when he died. 1864 was occupied by Henry Chance.
