Does anyone have any information on 43-45 Station Street? I'm looking for things like architect, construction year etc. The building looks similar to the work of people like Plevins who did Market Hall Hotel next door but I can't find the architect and original info.

Welcome to Birmingham History Forum. Thomson Plevins did a few Birmingham buildings, some still with us others now gone. The Crown a few doors down is one of his. I cannot really detect a style in his work, a few of his building did have that late and decorative Georgian style, but everyone else was doing similar so I would imagine it would be difficult to say.

Any particular reason for you asking?

Trying to find who built the building originally. I believe the CFMarlow sign and/or moulding may still be behind the modern Itaewon & Chicken Express frontages. I've been trying to track down the architect or firm engaged in it being built for a while.

You may already know this but for anyone else searching…
CF Marlow may have moved from 102/3/4 Digbeth sometime between 1883 and 1890.
On the 1887 OS Map there seems to be 2 properties between the hotels on that section of Station Street.

Thomson Plevins was involved in many projects around that time in the area around New Street Station.

Plevins was involved in the Victoria and the Crown in Station Street, so it could be a good bet that he may have been involved in 43/45.

Turns out it wasn't Plevins. The Architect was actually JP (John Perry) Sharp & Co. Architects.
He also did:
The GII listed West end extension of Anglican Church of All Saints, Vicarage Rd, Kings Heath.
Station Street's Shaftesbury Coffee House and Temperance Hotel (Next to The Crown)
10-11 Corporation Street
45-49 Corporation Street
Born 1840 - Died 1915. Seems like he was heavily involved in Corporation St.
He was also the older brother (and taught) to the distinguished Manchester Architect
WR Sharp (https://manchestervictorianarchitects.org.uk/architects/walter-richard-sharp)
