great map john..i can see paddington st on it but not villa st as the map seems to end at round about farm st..i can see just a small bit of villa st but not the top end where i lived..

Wondering if there were many brickworks around (what became) the city centre in the 1870s ? There were plenty in the suburbs. I expect a significant number of ready made bricks were transported in via the canal system (?) As well as sand from the suburban sandpits ?
