I have only just come across this site. I lived at number 10 Augustus road from 1943 (it was the HQ of the local National Fire service then) but a bit later when I was 9 to 11 I used to meet a milkman from Fellows Dairy with his horse drawn cart and I delivered the milk to number 17. All this before going to school. I think it was still an individual house then but I do remember at no 16 lived Norman Painting who played Phil Archer in the Archers radio serial. I have photos of numbers 10, 11 and 9, They where all magnificent houses with great grounds. I lived at number 10 (The Lodge) until 1963.I would be ever so grateful for any information about this house in the 1960s

so far the member who had the photos has not got back to usWere any pics ever posted? My grandma used to live on this road. Bought it just after the war. It was used by the American army in ww2
