    Marriage / christening records please

Hi Shera, Thanks so much for your time & prompt reply. Even the fact that you mention these records are hard to read is helpful & explains why it is so difficult to find records we know should be there. We're pretty certain Elizabeth's surname was Lowell as 3 of her children had the middle name...

    Thomas Lowell Ralph

Thanks again Di, I'll certainly follow up on that. I notice you are researching Carters as well. My GG Grandfather was John Carter who was a city councilor for the Ladywood ward for 28 years. He also owned a canal boat building business. I don't suppose there is a connection to your Carters...

    Thomas Lowell Ralph

Hi Alberta & Di, Thank you both very much for your time & effort. I have Thomas Ralph's death record but can anyone suggest where he might have been buried? He was christened & married at Aston Juxta. Is this the same as St Peter & St Paul church near Aston Hall? If so was the churchyard still...

There is so much I want to learn about my roots & in...

    What happened to remains?

Wow! Thank you Wendy, Linda, Ann & Bo so much for your replys. I will certainly try contacting St Martins & also Witton cemetery & hopefully find those lost remains. I hate to think of them being left in a draw or a cardboard box somewhere. I'm sure the powers that be would have more respect...

Hi everyone, I know some of my Powell ancestors were buried in the churchyard of St Martins & I read an article about how the churchyard was excavated & the remains removed & examined. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what happened to the remains. Have they been interred in another cemetery...
