    Birmingham buses

This stop was for the 29,29A,16,16A,and,Ithink,also the 5 and 5A. The Handsworth group of routes (70,71,72,74,75 etc,and the 69 Lozells ) started from the large shelters in Colmore Row,in front of Snow Hill GWR Station, only a few yards around the corner,so had no need to use this stop.

    Birmingham buses

1563 turning from the top of Snow Hill into Steelhouse lane (where the 2,78 and 79 trams terminated ) on its way from Kingstanding Circle to Highfield Road,Hall Green on the cross city route 29. The second photo is the top of Snow Hill with a West Bromwich Corporation GEA registered Daimler...

A Destination Blind in the Bull Ring Shopping Center

As originally used, these short workings were shown alone,ie without any route number at all. With the arrival of tin front buses, with separate 3 digit number blinds, many short workings were given a suffix letter ,usually working out from the city centre to the outer terminus, from A onwards,with...

A Destination Blind in the Bull Ring Shopping Center

Very interesting.Seems to be a Lea Hall Garage blind from one of their tin front buses, since they worked the 28 route for many years.

Another former Midland Red Garage to Close

Thanks for the Llandudno Junction information,I keep hearing conflicting versions. From your comments LJ outstation will only be left with the 14,15 25 73 and open top work.By the way,you don't happen to have a list of current Arriva Cymru outstations, with approx number of vehicles at each ,do...

    Birmingham buses

These Leylands (2231-2265) were found in small numbers at several garages as staff and special needs buses (as at Hockley) but were only really used in real service on the 27 route, from (at various times) Selly Oak or Yardley Wood.

Another former Midland Red Garage to Close

Again, Coalville is reduced to an outstation,I presume of Thurmaston, but around 11 buses (7 Darts and 4 DAF SB200 ) remain in the town for local routes, presently at the side of the garage, but again, smaller premises (probably an open yard) are being sought. Incidentally, the report in the forum...

Another former Midland Red Garage to Close

It depends what you mean by closed.Stafford garage is now worked as an outstation of Cannock garage ,but around 20 buses (dennis Darts I think ) remain on part of the premises to work Stafford town services.Out of town services are now run from garages at Cannock.Telford and Burton. It is likely...

    city circle no 19 bus

an interesting fact about the city circle 19,is that it was worked from Barford Street Garage, whose only other regular work was a share of the inner circle 8,so that, despite being the closest garage to the city centre ,it was the only garage whose buses did not go into the city centre.
