My Great Grandad in 1911 Census gives his address as 25 let 2 Cheapside. Christopher Wood, Wife Harriet Wood, had 7 kids, I know where our Gray gets it from now. Was there a Brass factory around that area, jobs given are mainly in Brass Workings?.
I am researching my family history & came across probate for Sydney Bayliss of 6 Sherbourne Rd in 1951, so am confused about the connels being at 6 Sherbourne Rd, unless Granmom left there just after paps death. The Bayliss family had a Paper reclaim yard somewhere in Birmingham but not sure...
My Grandad Wood lived at 13 Bordesley Park Rd in1939, he used to visit the pub a lot, practically next door. He was born in 1894 so he was about 45, he served in WW1 so I'm not surprised he drank a lot.
Is the general thought that the kids are from Grange Rd, I think my family may have lived in Grange Rd a long time ago, my aunt Joyce is ( I believe ) still alive, & may be able to help, but I have to go through cousins to contact her,
My Grandad Wood lived at 87 Bordesley Park Rd in 1918, he had just got married to Violet Baynes. In other tracings, I came across a mention of Samson Rd or the back of Samson Rd, I think it was the last address of his wife Violet Baynes..
has anyone got any photos of Sherbourn Rd Birmingham, My mom's family used to have a Paper yard there many years ago. it was demolished in the 70's I believe. Grandad or Great grandad started the business years before.
