    My husband comes from Middlesbrough and we used to drive up to visit his family before Christmas every year and Chris Rea would always be playing on the car radio. Brings back lots of memories. RIP Chris.

    I think I have got my memories mixed up. The Dilshad was where I went for meals nearer to where I lived in Jockey road. The Indian restaurant we went for lunch when I worked at Gills was nearer to the Parade. Does anyone know the name of that one?

    Sutton Coldfield

    Fascinating. I was brought up in Rectory Rd which didn't exist then, but appears to be where the footpath leads from the Church down to the Glebe and what became Rectory Park. Am I correct? Interesting that The Three Tuns and the Kings Arms were there.
