Skin and Lock Hospital John Bright Street

I can't actually read the article in the link without subscribing, was the bar in the Skin Hospital then? I wouldn't have known that in 2017 as I'd left Birmingham by then.

Skin and Lock Hospital John Bright Street

I think that was probably another building. I worked part time at the old Ikon Gallery in John Bright Street in the 90s and there were offices in the Skin Hospital building then, the Birmingham Royal Ballet originally had an office in there.

Crown And Cushion Pubs Perry Barr

Yes, all quite confusing with the Crown and Cushions! If I remember correctly the small C&C on the other side of Birchfield Road was called The New C&C, that would have been because it was newer that the original old C&C on the corner with Wellington Road! Before I knew that I used to wonder...

It was definitely called Franchise Street when the Birchfield Road schools were still there so before the Poly was built. A girl in my class lived there.

    Saddlers Arms Aldridge Road

I was at Birchfield from January 1956 until 1962. I remember the area before the Underpass was constructed and also when it opened. I'm fairly sure I can remember the pub but maybe I'm just imagining I can!
