You're spot on with the location, Steve. What fab photos you're unearthing for us-thank you! I'm not so hot on 1950s cars: the Austin A40, on the right, was launched in '54, so gives us a timeframe between 1954-60 when the photo was taken. I'm sure Johnfromstaffs will guide us further!

Hi Susan, this picture of the Bull Ring appears elsewhere on this site, dated 1960, which sounds about right, as the land has been cleared for construction of the Rotunda, which commenced in 1961

The pub on the right is the Shakespearian Bar, on the corner of Great Colmore Street and Cregoe Street. Therefore, the row of houses must be on Latimer Street South

Three suggestions come to mind, for the row of three story houses, all in Lee Bank: Bell Barn Road, Cregoe Street, or Great Colmore Street.

It was a tongue in cheek remark, after all the effort & headscratching in identifying its location! But yes, I agree, late 1950s/ early 1960s. I looked up the milk float's number plate on www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/registrations, but it only says it's either: after March 1948, or after March 1963.

Now we just have to work out the year the photo was taken!!
