Whoops it's happened again! A lorry collided on Summer Road in Erdington, before 11am on Friday (Jan 3). The road was shut in both directions by police while emergency teams worked to remove the lorry. Train services from New Street Station to Lichfield Station were disrupted by the incident:

He gained a sale the day that my grandmother took me to Lewis's (I remember it well;)). I never got the hang of it myself, although my Dad tried to show me how it should be done (he must have been quite a talent back in the 30s!). :)

Didn't he use that land to run his bikes? I'm sure I heard them, but I never ventured in, which now seems a very good decision.

My friend used to live here (in Erdington) and like Loyd's sign above @ #149 the lane came into it's own at this time of year:

Those head scarfs were often worn by those engaged in war work in WW2.

Thanks so much for posting that, the detail given of the day are terrific and I love the fact that they lunched at The Yenton between their two rounds.

I wonder how many Henry went round in? I'm thinking, it would be somewhat lower than the best round that I ever manged there, in an awful lot more attempts ;) . Really interesting read that.
