    Edmund Street

    I was an in patient at the Ear Nose and Throat in the 1970s to have tonsils removed. I have vivid memories of the Victorian ward with beds either side of an aisle with a table in the middle. I loved the jelly and ice cream they served post op.

    Thank you for the posts and photographs. Without them, I would not have been able to see where I was born in 1963. Coincidently, I worked in the catering department at Sorrento Maternity and Monyhull hospitals from 1986 to 1988.

    My 2nd great grand parents Joseph Edmonds and spouse Sarah Clarke lived in back to back house 11 Court 7 Adelaide Street, Deritend for 30 years according to censuses 1871 to 1901. They worked in the brass industry. Does anyone have pictures of Adelaide Street before it was bulldozed?
