    Workhouse records

Reading these posts I have an Aunt who died in the Workhouse Infirmary in 1914. I am wondering if I should ask Birmingham Archives if I could find further information to add to my research ? Would the 100 year law prevent me doing this ?

MIKE. I shall always be confused by those old maps ( To Me Lord Street was two blocks away from Coleman Street ) I don't dispute the map as it must have been drawn up right at the time.

Thank you for your post Lyn. My wife and I both remember the Aston Hippodrome, Barton Arms, House That Jack Built ( We still have a large white teapot that we paid 2/6d for ) there was a drapers shop where she bought a paper pattern for a coat and still uses it.

Mike. Thank you for the post. I am not sure where the Bordesley Palace was, I can only guess that it may have been just before Belchers Lane coming from town. I am sure David will be interested in this post when he sees it. I have to go out now but will read it a bit more thougher later.

Phil. I know it cannot be helped but your photograph on post 1859 is great to me, just wish the quality of the corner pub was better. I had an uncle and aunt born in that area.
