Still in the same area we have the Avenue Hotel on the corner of Queens Road and Park Road taken in 1967, and quite a tranquil scene with the trees and church in the distance . I love the empty clean streets and the old lorry

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

We are now looking up Bracebridge Street with the Old Vine Pub , its unusual these days to see the mix of shops especially a record shop, next to an Off license next to houses and a pub on the end of the street !! Am I right in thinking there is another pub ( Ansells?) even further up the road?

This next image is more for the line up of cars- everyone built like a tank and probably each one was a rust bucket. - my paperwork says this is the Mazeppa Inn on Yates Street, I have posted a picture of this pub but this is from a different angle .

another picture from 1941, this is Stevens Bar in New Street, love everything about this building - the black windows on the left hand side and the massive M & B sign, I am unsure of the side road (to give me more idea of a location ) suggestion?

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Now apologies for this shot, the road sign says Warwick Road - but as its a long road I am not sure of it relationship to the Dolphin. A selection of shops with older building close but a look down the road have more modern ( relatively) buildings. Again these were taken December 1991
