    Despite loosing a few plants during the recent storms, we still have a splash of colour hanging on. My success for the year was saving my dried out Hydrangea. I've potted on my cuttings, and they seem to be OK. Steve.

    A warm Southerly, and some sunshine, bought these out to day. I chopped about four foot off the Buddleias, to take to the skip tomorrow.. Steve.

    We have had 60 mph NW winds for the last day and a half, bringing salt spray off the sea. My Clem has suffered. Night time temperatures feeling only 2 deg. so, I think it will now be time to start emptying pots. Steve.

    My first wife's mother worked at Castle Bromwich during the war, as an Inspector on the Spitfire line. I was recently able to see her notebook from 1942, when she was training for her role. Here are a few pictures. I am impressed by her drawing ability. More to follow. Steve.
