Anything is possible. She could be a relative of another Italian family and came with them to Bham or one that was already here and came to join them. We just don't know but we now know that she had been in Bham before she married.
Interestingly George Miles' grandfather was a bricklayer.
Still can't see any other record (census or birth) for her. Or any other Perca.
Maybe she was born in Italy (or wherever), family came to Bham between censuses, went back and then she returned???
Sadly I can't see anything for John (I assume Giovanni) Perca. It may be that the records just aren't online yet but it could also be that Perca has been anglicised or just not recorded correctly.
Also the Bacciochi (various spellings) family had been in Bham for 3 generations before Maria. Her father and grandfather were born in Bham and it was her great grandfather who came from Italy and married an English woman.
They have Tony Iommi's mother mixed up with his grandmother. Maria Sylvia Baciocchi was born in Aston. Her mother was Beatrice Volante and she was born in Italy, I don't know if it was Sicily.
What you need is for Tony Iommi to appear on one of ancestry tv programmes.
Looking at his Wikipedia page though I would say that they have his parents' details wrong.
I did mean the marriage certificate for Francesco Iommi and Maria Musticone to see who his father was.
I think we assumed that Felice and Angelina probably married some years previously in Italy and for whatever reason decided to marry again in England. That was just speculation, his father...
As you mentioned previously Giuseppe's death was registered by N Musticone, niece.
Assuming this to be true then that would make one of her parents a sibling of Giuseppe. Maria was an Iommi so I would say it was very likely. It would be nice to see a marriage for her and Luigi to confirm this...
That line might be a brick wall then unfortunately, unless family knowledge can she light on things. That wrong birthplace (if it is wrong) is a bit of a killer, even a correct birthplace may not have helped, depending where it was.
There doesn't appear to be birth reg. for her under her name or anything similar and she seems to be the only person with the surname Perca in the Bham area. Her marriage is possibly the only example of her surname in all the bmd registrations.
So I'd say her birthplace is wrong in 1921 or she...
Assuming I've got the right people.
I have your nan was Violet Miles and she was very young (just 16?) when she married your grandad?
I have her mother as Alexandra Perca and though on the 1921 census her birthplace appears to be listed as Bham I'm fairly certain that's not correct.
