    The Outer Circle

For a moment I thought this image was showing the gas regulator at Cotterage island, but it does not quite fit. The junction of Pershore Road and Lifford Lane is a possibility too.

The Palace Cinima was quite interesting. The foyer was very long and bent to the right. Someone told me that this was when it was a very small village theatre. The cinema auditorium was a later addition added at the back and the original theatre becoming the foyer. The Palace Cinima was I...

That them. We would have a whip round and share them between us. Sophisticated treats or sophisticated cinema goers, us like a pack if wild dogs fighting over who had one more matchmaker. Just wondering who made them?

    1950's 60s and 70s Erdington

We called them Tesco Specials. The had the hems turned up. I am sure there was a café called The Griddle Inn on the corner? It seemed frightfully posh with its frothy coffee, toasted burger buns and they would remove the rind from the bacon on your bacon cob. A step too far for my friend and...

    Slums

Sounds right to me, my own mom and dad had to go on the council house waiting list for over 8 years before getting a flat on the Lyndhurst Estate. They lived with the in-laws during that time as a lot of couples did. I too recall the council doing envelope schemes around Aston, Witton and...

    Slums

I am of the opinion that the back to back housing had to go, but there was a lot of terraced housing that was in perfectly good condition. Most of that hat could have been upgraded. At the time, there were a lot of governments grants available for redevelopment which I feel could have been...

How fascinating, can you share any photos or other information please. I do recall all the pigeon lofts when I lived in a coal mining area of South Derbyshire. I also recall a fair few people in Birmingham kept pigeons too.
