Warren, I transferred funds directly to Jims's account from the US. Is that account still "live" or is there another one? He sent me the information by direct messaging. Let me know and I will be glad to donate.

    Buildings at risk

While I do not understand the way it is done in the UK, the unelected gate keepers are not wrapped too tight in the US. I have worked in the US as a consultant/expert witness (still do) and found, the level of frustration is a mile high! There are layers and layers of people granting approval...

    Buildings at risk

From what I have seen, which is quite a narrow perspective, the total cost to tear down rebuild with a relatively short life has to be for our greater than preserving something from history. Not in all cases and not every time, but it certainly seems that the easy way out on someone’s watch is...

    Buildings at risk

Mort, I am in total agreement with your comments regarding the use of strategic. Strategic is from the Greek term meaning to kill it’s a military term. From your posting. There seem to be too many layers involved, and regarding the unions you are correct. Nevertheless, none of that explains why...

H W Wards Lathe Makers, Selly Oak. Any ex Apprentices out there?

I maybe wrong but I thought in the other thread about Wards apprentices they talked about that racing car built by apprentices. I could not find that thread (sorry) maybe one of the moderators can help. Those members that talked about the car should/could be able to help.

    Buildings at risk

That is such a beautiful building, I hope that with all of the architectural talent available they just don’t pull it down and replace it with a non descript concrete block. A building like that could readily be converted to a hotel or flats.

    D.N.A. TESTING

Sounds like a data purchase to me. The designation "non-profit" is nothing more than a joke or scam. All it means is the company does make money, but the operators have access to lads of cash with little or no accountability. I did some consulting work a few years ago that was a non-profit, to...

    Bread and Dripping

We have a distant version of it in the US……wait for it, called English Muffins! I like them the same way, lots of butter and marmalade!
