    The Outer Circle

Hi everyone, I have such good memories of the No 11 - we used to go from Quinton on the no.9 to Bearwood & catch the No.11 to Bourneville (I can still smell the chocolate - so I always knew we were nearly there) and then another little bus to Mulberry Rd. where my grandparents lived - seemed to...

    Wrensons shops

I remember Wrensons very well - I used to take the grocery list in on my way to school and they delivered it. I remember the loose tea in sacks and currants and raisons also in blue sacks - the bacon slicing machine and the patting of butter into shapes and a tin of salmon only red of course...

    Birmingham buses

After a Saturday night at the Tower I used to catch the No 9 bus to Quinton right to the terminus then about a 15 minute walk - my mum insisted my dad came to meet me as the walk was either through the park or down Spies Lane which was quite creepy in those days - and he did carrying my flat...

The only things I have is a photo of him on a horse in uniform with a sword and a flag - he is wearing a little pill box hat - the photo has written on the back...

Hi dib44, Thank you for your reply. I got onto the site you recommended but wasn't able to open the site within it. Will try again. Can you tell me what the official name of Zululand was/is - that will make it a bit easier to find what I am looking for I hope. Thanks again Sheri
