You never stop hoping that some new record or information will appear that will help your solve your ancestry mysteries, even if it's years later. Every ancestry line ends with a dead end, you just hope it's a good few generations in the past.

There's a Walter Matthews listed as Grocer and Provision Merchant in 1911 at 2 Lozells Road I think. His wife was much older and one of her sons (from a previous marriage) is with them listed as Grocers Assistant.

The birth reg. for Vincent has mother's name as Faulkner. And there is a Mary Falkner born and baptised in Willenhall (her listed birthplace in 1881) of the right age. Interestingly her father was a locksmith. She appears to be missing off the 1861 census, so is she with Vincent in some foreign...

The Belfast baptism could be him but no way to know for certain. Getting either certificate for Harriet seems a bit of a waste of money to me. I can't imagine what other info on them there would be that would help.

Looks like she married a Charles Littley. Found a baptism for a Vincent Kerr in Belfast 11 Aug 1830, son of a Patrick and Eliza. Without a marriage to Mary (Faulkner) impossible to prove if relevant.

It's the same in 1911 and the same boarder is still there. She appears to have been married before George and (as can been seen) the 2 children are previous husbands. She appears to die in 1922, listed as Jenkins.

I can't see him in 1901 or 1911. I can see a George of a similar age with wife Sarah but he's a different person.

As the father of the George Fowler of Leopold St was a Beer Retailer doesn't it seem plausible that his son would invent a device for barrels?

Am I missing something? The George Fowler who lived at 66 Leopold St is not the same as the one born in Oadby (as can be seen from the 1881 census scan). There doesn't appear to be any obvious connection between the 2 families.

You can only hope that one of the children turn up on a census with Henry's relatives.
