Hi

Could anyone tell me what these items are in the courtyard of Newman Brothers, Fleet Street around 1990s
I’m a tour guide at the Coffin Works and interested to understand this photo. The First floor workshop at the rear was a polishing shop and I assume they are some sort of air filtration system. The ground floor workshop at the rear was an electroplating shop and I have no idea what the various items outside are ?? Thanks for looking Chris

If your referring to the two conical objects they are dust cyclones used to suck away sawdust and wood shaving from machinery. They are also used in other industrial processes to as separators, but they look like the were used in a woodwork workshop. The object in the middle is an oil filled transformer. I am not so sure about the left-hand object, it maybe a clarifyer also known as a heat exchanger.

Morturn is correct with his reply, but I would add -
From left
oil tank ? Looks like there might be a boiler in the adjacent room with what looks like a gas flue.
open topped tank - used in electroplating
rectifier - used in electroplating processes
cyclones - used not just in wood shops but metal linishing also.
