hi folks just to say that i have a book that lists the names of all civilian casualties and those who died during the air raids so if anyone is not too sure if any of their ancestors were victims i am happy to have look at the list..

Hi thanks for letting us know about the book. Can you look up my grandmother. Her name was Nellie Duggan and she was only 25, got bombed while working in the Ammunition factory down Nechells
 
hi lisa yes nellies name is on the tree of life memorial in the city centre..do you know the name of the munitions factory nellie was working at as there could be something in the newspapers ..hope this helps

No i dont but I remember something about it was next to carpet shop i think..
 
There are number of ads for workers wanted in the 1940 newspapers. One says wanted urgently for government work - apply Whitffield's Bedsteads Ltd, Watery Lane.

I'd guess that like many businesses they adapted for the war.
