Adoption record, Arthur Cratchley, Joyce Gardner 1920

My Dad was born in 1924 and his mother died in childbirth. He was adopted by his mothers brother and wife, this was by private deed with his birth father but required to keep fathers surname.
The adoption by deed was because there was no legal adoption in UK until 1926.
 
Hi again...Received Marriage Certificate for Joyce Gardner on April 1st. What a Joke! haha. Took so long i.e.
You were right...No Father's name.
What is a little interesting though is the Witnesses was E. Cratchley (presumably Eliza Cratchley) and G. Cratchley (presumably George Cratchley) and Arthur Cratchley's brother.
George may have stepped up as a witness as Arthur Cratchley was deceased when the marriage occurred.
Not ready to give up yet!

Have you attached the correct cert? Neither of those brides are Joyce Gardner as far as I can see.

Sorry Janice....I should have looked before posting. Also these images of the one document are so big but this was the only way that I could attach the cert as it kept saying that the file was too big.
Thought I would mention that Blanche Fowler on the first cert is Ada Cratchley's sister.
Blanche's husband Frederick James Cratchley is Arthur Cratchley's Brother.
Jesse Samuel Cratchley is my 2x Great Grandfather.
Thomas Gardner is Joyce's Grandfather.
It seems that the Fowlers, Cratchley's and Gardners all knew each other with many of them marrying into the same families
