Trams

YGB

proper brummie kid
Hello, it's YGB here. Last week I posted on this forum, about donating books, prints, pictures etc. re: old Birmingham, that belonged to my late Father Norman (Brookieboy). I was totally overwhelmed by the response and have taken great comfort in the fact that they have gone to people who will really appreciate them, as my Father did. I have now got a box of pictures, prints and books, all relating to trams, most of which I assume, will be Birmingham related. I am at a loss as to what to to with them and as before, wish for these items to go to the right home. If any of you have any suggestions as to any people and/or organisations, who may be intersted in them, it would be greatly appreciated, as would rather donate, than just bin them. Thank you for your help. YGB x

You could try: The Aston Manor Transport Museum- Aldridge, or The Crich Tramway Museum, Derbyshire.

Thanks Astoness. I have tried Crich, but no response. I’ll try Aston Manor. Yx

I am prepared to scan any photos, prints and upload them to this forum
I have previous experience of scanning many thousands of photographs.
After this I can offer them to someone else on the forum if they would appreciate owing them, or forward them to wherever/whoever suggested on forum.
I am in Hall Green, just had operation for aneurism so unable to drive for another 6 weeks.
Regards
RobT

Had my AAA op, seven months ago, have given up driving, apart from my mobility scooter, but trust you are OK now. I will try and PM some postcards to you which you can put on the ƁHF for me
Bob

I hope you get over your operation quickly Rob.
Thanks Mike, I sat waiting 2-4 months for a complex stent to be made in Australia,
I was contacted by Consultant around about 18th April, given 5 days notice of operation done privately on NHS.
In Priory Hospital 8am Monday morning April 24th, finished by midday.
Discharged Tues April 25th 7pm
Consultant said he had done 981 of these complex operations, and can now make the complex stent in 45 minutes.
Trying to sort 12 days of constipation, twelve letters beginning with N and ending with N, moving in right direction now hopefully.
Regards RobT

Hi Rob, I will get these sorted for you and arrange delivery asap, because I also live in Hall Green. I will private message you in a couple of days, to get your address and to arrange a suitable time/date to drop off. Hope your recovery is going well. Yx

The constipation, I think the worst part of the surgery. Had a surgery 6 weeks ago with a few complications, stopped taking the pain killer after one day because of fear of constipation. Be well and recover quickly!

Thank you all for your kind advice & support. At the moment, the transport museum, at Aldridge have expressed an interest. However, should this change, I am happy for the prints to go to you RobT. Kind Regards. Yvonne x

Ok, a set of tram and bus photos I know little about.

I recall downloading them because I thought the site that hosted them may not be continuing for much longer. We had the same with the Shoothill Gallery a couple of years ago, so I thought to jump in quick.

I have amended some of the file names of the few that I recognise, so any help with the others, what who where and when would be most welcome.
