Thanks Pedrocut, that seems much more likely. Also, the flags would have been for Edward VII's coronation wouldn't they? August 1902 - so typical English summer weather. Good picture.

The 'important occasion' was probably the Coronation of King Edward VIII and Queen Alexandra on 26 June 1902, which had to be postponed at the last minute because because the King had been taken ill with an abdominal abscess that required immediate surgery. The event eventually took place on 9 August 1902.
