Of course, Raymond's, Mr Teasy Weazy, New St, Birmingham has to be the first that springs to mind!!!!!

But I'd like to hear of any other salons that would have been popular in Birmingham in the 60's, 70's and 80's etc.

Any pics would be fabulous, surely there must be a Raymond's photo out there somewhere.

A hairdo at Raymond's, Mr Teasy Weazy’s was more of a roleplay experience, an expensive treat, especially if Mr Raymond did it. You did not tell him how you wated it, he told you apparently.

I loved Raymond’s on New Street! You accessed it up a flight of stairs, the top of which hung a huge portrait of Mr Teasy Weasy to greet you. I saw Noele Gordon more than once in there, she was swept away to a private area no doubt to be coiffed by the main man himself! It had a lovely old school feel about the place, bit pricey but worth it. The hairstylists were know by Mr / Miss followed by their christian name. If you could afford it you could have a manicure at the same time. Very glamourous!

I had my hair cut at Raymond's on the morning of my first marriage, in September,1977. I can not remember the name of the young lady hairdresser, but she came in early to cut my hair. and a grand job she did, if I say so myself.
I had been going there for about a year, if I recall.

Steve.
