Spring Hill

Yes it was posted by me. One of the reasons it took me so long to realise where it was was because it looked like 34, but I realised that the photo was on an angle and when I matched it up with all my family research and photos others have posted of the area, I realised it would be 134 and the 1 was seen because of the angle.

thanks for the map on post 58 mike.. no 134 is 4 properties just round the corner from eyre st...eyre st is still there so its very easy to pinpoint where the watch shop was...here is todays street view...i would put the shop roughly where the man is on the grass ..also we can see the library

most welcome sarah...next time you are down that way you can now stand on the exact spot of no 134..well within a couple of feet anyway..

sarah you may find this map site useful during your research...ive set it on eyre st and spring hill for you...just move the blue dot to the left and the old map will fade and show you what is there today...you can go anywhere with it just fill in the drop down boxes on the left ..i always select os 6inch map 1888 to 1915 then all you do is put the name of the street or road you are looking for where it says type a modern name place
