I worked on Golden Hillock for William Blye the sculptor for 5 years also Bill Gameson had a shop there in the early 1950s would like to see any photos

Can anyone tell me where this photo was taken in small heath?

The ascending roof lines, rising into the distance, along with that distinctive brickwork below the roof., together with the front gardens with a bow window on the ground floor - Look like Oldknow Road.

St Benedict's Road at the junction with Floyer Road in the 1920s. The corner shop seems to no longer be a shop. Viv.

I think this is the junction with Bankes Road. The corner shop was a general store. Floyer Road is the next one down the hill. The fence on the right was around St. Benedict's Church. The colour photo is Floyer Road. The shop on the corner used to be a wine and beer shop with Kendalls grocery store opposite.

hi all the photo above fits perfectly with my memories of 8/94 Arthur st Small Heath in the 1940/50s, the cupboard behind the lady was as near mom came to a food store, there would have been a bay window behind the boy with the sandwich and along that wall was the door into the house, our table was in the same place as the one in the photo it was the only place with room for us five kids to sit where mom could dish up.
the photo would have been taken from the kitchen doorway which also led to the coal house under the stairs and the twisting stairs to the two bedrooms happy days. Regards Acklam19.
