I have recently purchased the death certificate for my GG-Aunt. Elizabeth Dix. She was 16 months when she died and was killed in an accident with a lorry at 99 Dudley Road on September 27 1921.
I was able to find a short newspaper mention and both that and the death certificate stated was an...
I'm having trouble searching the right record (and don't want to purchase the wrong one) do you happen to know which address on aberdeen st they were at?
Anything is possible . He was however taken with Mary Ann Robbins in when the Middlemore folks took her from Charles and Mary Ann in late 1907 - he's mentioned here in the Mary Ann's Admittance Record. There was also a Thomas who was born (and passed) in 1907. I'm assuming that Mary Ann and...
I found the 1911 Census - looks like Mary A is listed as "wife".
I'm thinking that the children after John (Minnie, Edward, Enoch and Elizabeth) may be John Gidley's but that doesn't explain them all using the surname Dix later in life.
I pulled the census info for John and Mary - I suspected they were living as "married" - John is listed as widowed on the 1939 register at the same address. The one year old Elizabeth surprised me (although Mary Ann has kids popping up all the time is seems).
I have pulled her death...

Actually when I re-read the Burial record it actually reads "type of grave - common" So I am guessing there is not going to be a stone :(
They do have plot numbers
Caroline - Section 8, plot 2733
Mary Ann -Section 8 plot 1846
but I'm guessing that will not yield much information.
I was able to purchase the burial records for both my gg and ggg grandmothers who are buried in Handsworth Section 8. They were both buried with "common" stones (Caroline's listed as common 16/6 S746 if I'm reading correctly with Mary Ann's just reading common). Under consecrated ground it is...
