    Accessing Inquest Files From Abroad

I have recently purchased the death certificate for my GG-Aunt. Elizabeth Dix. She was 16 months when she died and was killed in an accident with a lorry at 99 Dudley Road on September 27 1921. I was able to find a short newspaper mention and both that and the death certificate stated was an...

Anything is possible . He was however taken with Mary Ann Robbins in when the Middlemore folks took her from Charles and Mary Ann in late 1907 - he's mentioned here in the Mary Ann's Admittance Record. There was also a Thomas who was born (and passed) in 1907. I'm assuming that Mary Ann and...

    Bromsgrove Street 1907

I found the 1911 Census - looks like Mary A is listed as "wife". I'm thinking that the children after John (Minnie, Edward, Enoch and Elizabeth) may be John Gidley's but that doesn't explain them all using the surname Dix later in life.

    Bromsgrove Street 1907

I pulled the census info for John and Mary - I suspected they were living as "married" - John is listed as widowed on the 1939 register at the same address. The one year old Elizabeth surprised me (although Mary Ann has kids popping up all the time is seems). I have pulled her death...

    Handsworth Cemetery - grave locating

This makes sense. I did notice on some of the records on the page (Caroline's included) there is a penciled in name - the heading at the top of the page reads "Rank or Profession" , which doesn't make sense. Do you happen to have any insight or came across this before? The one with Caroline's...

    Handsworth Cemetery - grave locating

Actually when I re-read the Burial record it actually reads "type of grave - common" So I am guessing there is not going to be a stone :( They do have plot numbers Caroline - Section 8, plot 2733 Mary Ann -Section 8 plot 1846 but I'm guessing that will not yield much information.

    Handsworth Cemetery - grave locating

I was able to purchase the burial records for both my gg and ggg grandmothers who are buried in Handsworth Section 8. They were both buried with "common" stones (Caroline's listed as common 16/6 S746 if I'm reading correctly with Mary Ann's just reading common). Under consecrated ground it is...

    Searching Obituaries (out of country)

Any advice on how to search obituaries from Bham newspapers? I have a few specific names/dates I'd like to search and then a few names but no death dates. I'm not sure if there is a central online source? I'm located in Canada so am still learning how to navigate... Do families even publish...

It's possible, I suspect if he was able to walk a little on the 12 of February 1915, he would have survived a little longer, but really anything could happen if he caught an illness.

Yes, Ellen had 7 boys, 5 of which were affected and passed away before they were 17. Her daughter also had a son affected who passed away in his late teen/early 20's. (The females carry the gene). I had always wondered MaryAnn snr was the carrier, and it appears she was, I wonder if any other...

Oh, I guess it would be closed until the last entry, I was thinking it's doubtful that charles would have lived past 1921 so that would be 100 years for him :(

    Bromsgrove Street 1907

I doubt charles jnr would have lived past 20 (which would be generous) the life expectancy until very recently was late teens (it's still only early 30's). He likely would have remained at Woodlands until he passed, as he would have gotten progressively worse until his respiratory muscles were...
