I can only open the one showing the church main entrance. Could be my set up,

    langdon Bill

Despite the gap in years some one may find the enclosed copy of a post I made a few years back about a person who I am now convinced must have been Bill Landon. If anyone has contact with a family member and could enquire about the photos of old Birmingham there are a number of very enthusiastic...

    OLD BIRMINGHAM PHOTOS FROM STEVEBHx

On the subject of old photographs of Brum I enclose a copy of a post I made back in 2019 . The post actually responded to a thread on accents but included reference to Bill Landon's (which I note has a thread way back) Note that Bill had a brilliant and extensive batch of black and whites which...

What an excellent photo. Memories flooding back. Who would have thought such a small plot of land in dear old Brum could hold so many fond memories.

Father Hugh Edmund Langton Montgomery, 1875 - 1971, priest

Whilst checking out facts for my post about Father Montgomery I came across the attached article. This will evoke a few memories. Enjoy https://www.historic-uk.com/CultureUK/Schooldays-in-the-1950s-1960s/

Father Hugh Edmund Langton Montgomery, 1875 - 1971, priest

What an amazing life story. I'm sure none of us at St Peter's had a clue about his illustrious past. We did however learn to enjoy his company, his warmth and guidance mostly by his kind nature. I found the dates quoted a bit out of kilter with my memory. I left Saint Peters school in 1958, I'm...

St Peters R C School Broad Street

There was extensive coverage of St Peter's, both the school and church. As a past pupil and alter boy, 1950 -57 I'm curious, If that old thread still exists can it be merged with this one.

    St Chads Schools

I hesitated for a while but here goes nothing. Its great seeing names of teachers and fellow pupils from St Chads. Like a few others I came to St Chads after my junior years at St Peters Broad St. The 2 photos in the yard at St Chads are mine, I think i posted them ages back on Friends United...

    Lar Pom

I stumbled on this one when using google to establish the origin of the term. And up pops this forum. So, it was a common phrase for the bog when I was growing up in Ladywood in the 50s but our degeneration was Larm pom. Has to come from the forces and france is a guess.

I wonder how many past pupils of St Peters will have their memories jogged by your recollection. Great place, nice start to life. Thanks for posting

    OLD BIRMINGHAM PHOTOS FROM STEVEBHx

One of my favourite memories of my life in Irving Street was Speaking Stile Walk. We lived at the bottom of that incline, turn left cross Irving Street and there lived we for 10 years 1950-60. Wright & Platt, The Unicorn. Memories or what. I tried to task Carl Chinn some years back about...
