I was at HH from 1965 -1969 & hated it at first. Some of the teachers were not very nice (always picking on the weekest/smallest children). The head mistress we had was brilliant though. Spent many a time in her office having cups of tea & biscuits. She retired the same time I left.

When I worked at FineFayre on Lozells Road, there was a girl, whom I got on really well with who lived in Chain Walk. This was in the 1970's. Here name was Dianne Wilcox. Spent many happy time in her flat until my father ruined everything by following me to her flat.

Going to Lewis's at christmas was so so special for many of us kids back then. I loved the animal corner, & used to go there instead of school.

It was every year Paul, as I remember it. Pity this platform was not kept as part of the building. This brought back so many memories foir me growing up.

I can remember seeing what appeared to being a large balcony over that entrance, where at christmas, a large santa display was always installed. This was in the 1960's.

Thank you mikejee. I know my grandparents lived at the far end to the right, which is showing as 12/45. I had so many happy memories in that house. I would say, they were my happiest in any house.

I have many memories of Montague street, as I used to live in Waterworks street. I had many wonderful memories from there. I loved those old houses. The area was so much better than it is today. People were more friendly. Always helping each other out.

I think many of us had horses like this. Mine was made by my grandparents. My Grandma made the horses head out of old pillow cases. I can remember it was striped, & I thought it was a zebra, & not a horse. She did explain that it was all she had to use. I had loads of fun with it.
