    Thank you so much for posting this. I was brought up in Sutton during the 50s and 60s. I have just read through this history of the shops on the Parade and these are the ones that brought back memories. Wimbush, Rose greengrocer,. Maypole, George Mason, Plowrights, Trows ice cream, Pattisons...

    Grand Hotel Colmore Row

    We went to the Grand about 3 years ago for champagne afternoon tea. It was a wonderful experience. I keep meaning to go back. After reading the article I will.

    Post office is really in a mess

    They have recently installed one at the top of Sheep St in Stratford-Upon-Avon. I have no idea what you do, but luckily we still have our main post office at the top of Henley Street. I will continue to use the post boxes there.for as long as I can.

    Thank you. That brings back the memories 1966/7. 3 course lunch for 5 shillings. That was the Dilshad I went to when I was a Saturday girl at Gills. So there were Two Dilshads in Sutton.

    singer chis rea aged 74

    My husband comes from Middlesbrough and we used to drive up to visit his family before Christmas every year and Chris Rea would always be playing on the car radio. Brings back lots of memories. RIP Chris.
