There is a 'sheet metal workers' called Unity listed as 52/53 Summer Lane in both the 1964 & 1967/68 Kelly's. On the 1966/67 map it is labelled 'welding works'.
I can find no other sheet metal factories on Summer Lane.
It would be a 20min walk or 5 minutes by car from Park Lane
Such sad news, I never met Eric but would have been honoured to meet him, I am always in awe of people with his artistic ability and reading all of these messages shows what a lovely person he was too. I will very much miss seeing his paintings of Birmingham.
There was a No. 40 in 1915 and seems to be on the No. 46 side of Bowyer Street. What's strange is that the building standing there today looks much older than the 1960s
