    Garbett street.

Aerial view of Garbett Street 1937 (not good quality), doesn't seem to match the map very well so I assume some houses were lost to bombing or demolition. I think No. 24 is the one arrowed.

    Garbett street.

The 1871 and 1921 census has the Old Robin Hood at 102 Garbett Street, corner of Summer Hill Road.

    Garbett street.

A map from 1950s, unfortunately I don't think any of the photos show No. 24 but I will look to see if there is an aerial view. Photo 3 is taken looking towards Shakespeare Road from Garbett Street.

There is a William Oakley (motor transport contractor) on the 1939 register for Sedgely born in 1901.

    Is this any good Lyn?

The junction Hockley Street & Great Hampton Street

Have you seen this 1855 map? but I think it only shows a sewer grating and perhaps not the period you're interested in. https://maps.nls.uk/view/260802738

    Rea Street

A few discrepancies on the census so checked a few others. Court 11 was between Nos. 47 and 48 so No. 46 as marked. Were you aware that there was an Edmonds family at No. 4 on the 1871 census?

    Rea Street

Here is a link to the 1950s map showing house numbers, the house numbers still appear to be consecutive (rather than odds and evens) but unfortunately I can't see No. 46 at the moment. https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=15.0&lat=52.48214&lon=-1.89035&layers=173&b=1&o=100 Also link to 1890s...

    St Paul's Square Hockley

An aerial view from 1948, several buildings behind the steeple without a roof, presumably the result of bomb damage.

Hi Mike, tuisitala's opening message is missing from this thread and it therefore appears that the thread was started by me. If you can't reinstate it I can edit my response to it.
