Factory Where Tony Iommi Worked in Aston

There is a 'sheet metal workers' called Unity listed as 52/53 Summer Lane in both the 1964 & 1967/68 Kelly's. On the 1966/67 map it is labelled 'welding works'. I can find no other sheet metal factories on Summer Lane. It would be a 20min walk or 5 minutes by car from Park Lane

    ERIC , cookie273 aged 95

Such sad news, I never met Eric but would have been honoured to meet him, I am always in awe of people with his artistic ability and reading all of these messages shows what a lovely person he was too. I will very much miss seeing his paintings of Birmingham.

H Harrison Coventry Road Small Heath

I don't understand this Mike, what am I not seeing? on all of the Kelly's the Clements Arms is shown as No. 30 not No. 32.

Yes Janice, the photo and christian name could help enormously. Quite a conundrum this one.

H Harrison Coventry Road Small Heath

In 1899, the late Albert Cox was at No. 34, perhaps there has been some renumbering?

H Harrison Coventry Road Small Heath

There was a No. 40 in 1915 and seems to be on the No. 46 side of Bowyer Street. What's strange is that the building standing there today looks much older than the 1960s

Bowling Green Terrace and Road off Coventry Road

It seems that in the 1950s Bowling Green Terrace was called Bowling Green Road and some properties survived.

    Old street pics..

Hi Philip welcome to the forum. I have attached a map showing the location, as you are probably aware this no longer exists. You may get better responses if you start a thread as 'Bowling Green Terrace off Coventry Road'.

I'm sure that there are more qualified people on BHF to help you but I did find this.

    Hawkes Street

I think it says Garabaldi Terrace possibly misspelt as Garibaldi Terrace.

Humphries and Baker Photographers 7 Hunters Lane Birmingham

Comparing residents in 1883 and 1990 then for certain Hunter's Lane became Hunters Road. In 1890 there is no entry for 7 Hunter's Road.

Humphries and Baker Photographers 7 Hunters Lane Birmingham

There was a Hunters Lane(s) shown on the 1861 census perhaps this became Hunters Road

Humphries and Baker Photographers 7 Hunters Lane Birmingham

Could be way of mark here but there was a Charlotte Spinks that lived at Hockley Hill on the 1861 census, her son was a photographer.

Hi Ian, welcome to the forum, have you tried this website? may be of some help but generally only lists addresses where a person has been injured or killed. https://database.birminghamairraids.co.uk/
