Jessie, my Grandmother, immigrated to Canada with her family in September 1920. My aunt Ethel married Lawson Price in 1912. I am still sorting all the great information you found!
Amazing! I learned more about my Hawkes family in the past 24 hours than I did in the past 5 years of searching!
Aunt Beatrice’s parents are indeed John Edward Hawkes and Eliza Green and both Clifford and Nora are two of her five siblings. Checking my family notes, the address IS 191 Arthur...
Beatrice was born in 1884 at Brierley Hill and was a young school teacher there. We believe she may have lived with her mother Eliza Hawkes at 263 Charles Rd in Small Heath in1920s. Believe she was single in 1920-21 when she disappears.
Thanks for the really quick response, glad I found this...
Trying for information re my Great Aunt, Beatrice May Hawkes. Family notes say she had a "Sweets Shop" in Small Heath in 1916. Cannot find her in the 1921 census. Could the 121 Arthur St have been the shop? Any info would be appreciated.
