Currently , The whole frontage / building is swathed in scaffolding and sheeting, undergoing remodelling ? Sadly, Courtier Cuts has now gone.

The entrance to The Tavern in The Town / Yard of Ale Pubs and later an All you can eat Chinese Buffet were to the right of the picture.

I may be getting a little mixed up, wasn't part of this building turned into a Pub late 80s or early 90s, possibly 'Rosie O'Briens', or was that another old building on John Bright St. ?

I can remember shops opposite Waterloo Road in the 1970s, Wing Fat a Chinese takeaway (Their Chips alone reflected the shop name!) and a second hand shop, used to get 7" (used) vinyl singles for 10p each, were around 50p New at the time (Record shop on Church Rd)
