Brummie yes ! Novice no !
The 'then' pictures are taken from old postcards, the 'now' pictures taken from Google Streetview.
The older of the pictures is thought to date from the 1930's.
The cornershop no longer exists, the site is grassland.

Hi Ian,

I think the shop only went in the last 10 - 20 years or so,
as did the shops and houses round the corner in Stockfield road.
All to do with the proposed extension of the dual carriageway
from Mansfield Road up to the island at Yardley Road.
I wonder if it will ever happen!
