Although the Villa lifted the cup in the season of 1894-5 the real holder was the burglar who entered the premises of W. Shillcock's shop in Newtown Row
on the night of Sept. 11th-12th The thief accessed the area through a flat
roof where the 'little tin idol was on display'. It was never recovered and weighed 24 oz at the time its value was estimated at 52/- (£2.60) for the
younsters of today. The popular theory is it ended in the melting pot:cool:
