hi folks as soon as i can i will be posting a selection of photos of birmingham pubs many of which have now gone..these were given to me by the person who took the majority of them..some of the captions on the backs are difficult to read so what i am hoping is that our members will correct any that are not right either by name of pub or location..i do know that a lot are right but any help with corrections will be a great help..

Interesting pics - superb etched glass in the windows of the George & Dragon, no. 20. The Woodman (Curzon Street / New Canal Street) used to be a regular haunt of mine in the early 1980s - as was The Old Union Mill (Heneage Street / Holt Street) and the Old Wharf (Oxford Street, now O'Rourke's) every Friday night before a curry in Manzil's. Happy days!

A nice walk down memory Lane for me as I'm now a little ashamed to say I have drank in at least 15 of those 20 pubs, that I can remember that is.

dont be ashamed of that phil...these pubs are all scattered but if you had lived in summer lane you would have drank in all 16 summer lane pubs...thinking about it i still dont know how folk who lived there got home in one piece lol
