The Hollyhocks Grow Tall

Funrunna

Brummie babby
Summer blooms smell sweetly now the Hollyhocks grow tall
The Ivy and Clematis vowd to climb the garden wall.
The borders are a riot and the gravelled paths are clean
there's not a thing here out of place to spoil a perfect scene.

The sun is high above me and there's bird song in the air
while you my love, my own true love, are somewhere over there.
Over where the shadows fall beyond my verdant dream
beyond where love can't take my hand. Beyond, beyond I mean.

There beneath the Yew tree in a place where nothing grows
there thou art beyond my joy, my garden or my prose.
Summer blooms smell sweetly and the Hollyhocks grow tall
but you my love, my sweetest love lie there. Beneath it all.
