Tailor apprentice records?

Hello Sheronb,

I have no idea where my ancestor was born in 1786.
He married in Birmingham in 1813.
He died before the Census Records that may have given a place of birth.
I have been informed that he would have had to bring his apprenticeship papers or master tailor records with him to Birmingham and that Birmingham Library Archives hold some -
Guild of Tailors records.
I am hoping these records may lead me to area where he was born .
I have not been able to get to Birmingham Archives as yet.

What years are you looking for ?
Best to inform The Library Archives of items you wish to view before your visit .

My ancester was born abt 1803, unsure of whether it was birmingham, if i find any records, i will let you know. Yes i'm doing the bham meet up so far thiis year.And you?
