  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

lilly fosters clean hands chart..every child at st clements school nechells was given one...ive got no date for this but looking at the drawings it may be late 40s to 50s..i find this most interesting as i dont think every school had these charts...

I have a copie of St Clements school register of girls dated from June 1943 to Nov 1945 (dates of admission) and there is not a Lilly Foster listed.

The only times we had our grubby hands checked was when we entered the library on Constitution Hill.If we were refused entry we would wash them in the horse trough outside and try again.Moss.
 
Does any one rember back in the 1960s some kids looking after a tramp in Clements rd, Nechells, it was me and my sister we made him a den and gave him food which we had taken from the house clothes ect.. our new friend until our mom found out and she got the news papers down, so they could help give him a place to live we had our photo taken for the paper .. we felt realy famous back in the day specially Nechells kids .. :)
