  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now

Hi Negritaspider re- your PM, I will attach reply here as I think it might help.

You contacted me as you thought there might be a connection between Louisa above and my post about Jane Smallwood, as you will see there is some 80 years difference in age, so it's anybody's guess.

Baptisms SAINT MARTIN, BIRMINGHAM Jane Smallwood - 26 Dec 1750 (Father Thomas) + 5 Males at least

Thomas Clark married Jane Smallwood - 18 Dec 1774, both of this parish. no other details. Witnesses Bennet Downes and Anne Atwood. NB: Bennet Downes wife Joannah had two children baptised St Philips 1773 - 1778.

Jane did not have any children? Burial St Martin 7 Oct 1781.

I'm inclined to think that Thomas Clarke married 1st Elizabeth Dodd in 1774. He married 2nd Hannah Shaddock.

However there is one coincidence arising from Ladylinda's post. Thomas Clarke son of above had three children born in Barr St 1812 - 1817.
I did a quick trail back of Smallwood births and Thomas above was probably the grandfather of John father of Louisa.

So, Thomas Clarke, who married Elizabeth Dodd/Hannah Shaddock had 3 children between 1812->1817 - one of which must have been female and married a Smallwood...if he's going to be the Grandfather of John Smallwood?
Can anyone help out with this please???

No this is not what I said.

I think but I cannot be certain that Thomas Clarke married Elizabeth Dodd not Jane Smallwood.

Thomas Clarke and his second wife Hannah, had a son Thomas who had 3 sons in Barr St, none of them married a Smallwood.
