master brummie
I have jut read through this from day 1 and it has brought back loads of memories. Some years ago I found a regular venue at the Old Sils club in Solihull run by Malcolm Stent. Poor Boys were the resident band and they had lots of pals from the 60's brumbeat era that would turn up and play, you never knew who would be on. Lots of ex members of Modernaires, Mayfair Set, Steve Gibbons, Dave Pritchard etc. Roy Wood turned up one night and played his hits, brilliant.
I was lucky in my working life to spend years at RCA records based in West Brom and lots of artists visited including Woody and Noddy Holder, all great people.
I have lived in Spain for some time and Wayne Fontana lives close and sometimes plays in local bars. 60 music is very popular here and still sounds great.
