John, do you think your John J Rolfe could have been married twice? In 1901 I have found

21 Beales Street, Aston.
John J Rolfe, Head, Married, 20, Milkman, b. Handsworth
Mary Rolfe, Wife, Married, 45, Milkmaid, b. Matlock, Derbys.
Alice Shearman, Dtr, Single, 18, Brassworker, b. Birmingham

RG12; Piece: 2436; Folio 121

There is quite a difference in the ages of John and Mary, but I have a similar situation in my own family tree. Wife was 30 years older than husband but said she was younger.

Mary Rolfe died Sept qtr 1915 aged 69 West Bromwich dist. So John could have married again in 1916
