Pugh family

Denise Hodson

master brummie
My greatgrandfather and his family his name was Thomas Pugh and his wife I believe was known as Polly, they lived in a back house off Lichfield Road, Aston, any information would be helpful. They may have come from the Bilston area. His son, my grandad was also Thomas Pugh, he married Beatrice Webb. I am sure they had more than one child but I don't know any names. Ihave a cousin, Clive who went to Upper Thomas Street Boys late 50's early 60's

Hi Denise,

The Pugh Family lived at 2 Court, 10 House Lichfield rd, Aston , Warwickshire . Dates - 1912 to 1939.

In 1930- a John Pugh is also at the address.

In 1939 -Vaughney Pugh is living at same add.
He was born in 1914 . His Mothers maiden name - Meredith.

Can you give a time frame of dates for your G-grandfather

Hi Astonian
No problems, I wait with interest, its the first break I have had, we women can be patient, but hurry up - only joking. It's just great to be getting something. I just regret not asking any questions but too late now unless I get a message...... you never know
Denise

Hi Bojalu Thanks for the info, gt grandad I am guessing was born around 1875 give or take a couple of years as my grandad was born in 1900, I know it sounds daft but I am not sure if he was Thomas Pugh or John Thomas Pugh, everyone called him Tom. You have sparked something off in the old brain cells with the name Vaughney. At last I feel as though I am getting somewhere THANKS TO YOU AT THE FORUM

Denise :)

marriage from igi records

john pugh to elizabeth ann evans on 6th oct 1872 at st.lawrence darlaston

johns father is named as samuel so should be correct one.

Shera I think you are right, I have been noting down everything then typing it up and saving it so I can add it all to my tree. I only have a cousin left who is my moms brothers daughter and she, like me never asked questions. She will be thrilled when I send her a copy of all you people have found. I am doing this for my own satisfaction but also maybe my children (adults) or grandchildren may want to know where they originated from. And theres more coming through, :D
Denise

marriage from igi samuel pugh to hannah mullett 8th june 1835 in tipton

this will be correct because in 1861 census john mullett a widower aged 83 is visiting the pughs

I've certainly go my work cut out adding this lot to my tree, thank to your searching. Astonian used to live in the next Court back of Lichfield Road where my gt grandad lived and I mentioned a story I was told about gt nan used to fetch him out of the pub and carry him home and Alan has confirmed it, boy you forum people are greater than great. I haven't lived in Brum for more years than I care to remember. I moved with my mom to Bristol, met a Bristrolian and married him and have settled here.
Now that my grandparents are gone we don't visit
