Hi John K
I,ve Just Read Your Request To Marie
On The Suject Of Pubs, And One In Particular
The College Arms Spring Hill
That Brought Memories Flooding Back To Me
I Lived Down The Hill From There ,and That Was One Of
Locals ,
When I Was Youg ,and Two Old Friends Of Mine
Namely David Adams, Graham Frisby ,
We Would Start Our Pub Crawling Expedition
From There After Playing Darts We Knew Most People
There ,
We Would Walk Back Down To The Coach And Horse,s
To The Traffic Lights At Spring Hill And Go Into The
Turf Pub ,then On To Icknield St ,
The Warstone , The Gate , The Mint
Around Into Camden Street , The Grotto Pub
Then Up To The B,a Pub The Duke Of Wellington
The Wind Mill [ Head Barman Stan Kirby ]
Then To The Lee Bridge Tavern And So Every Pub Until
We Got To The Cape And Into The Seven Stars
And Back To The Colledge
At Closing Time We Would Go Down To A Resturant
At The Bottom Of The Cape ,for A Meal
And We Could Meet Young Julie Walters In Her Younger
And Have A Laugh With Her , She Was An Attractive
Young Lady In Her Youth, and She Is Also Agooding Look
Lady Now In Her Prime
Those Were The Days In And Around That Area
I Know So Well ,
John There Was Another Little Pub Just Yards Up
From The Colledge, Can You Recall Its Name
The Land Lady Of That Pub Had A Daughter Whom Was
A Stage Dancer In Black Pool,
And One Week End She Brought The Batchelers Home
With Her , And My Mom Was Doing The Cleaning There
And On The Sunday Morning The One Named Con
Asked Her Would You Like A Cup Of Tea ,
She Said Yes Please He Brought Her A Cup Of Tea And
Gave Her A Peck On The Cheek ,
The Land Lady Said To My Mom ,
After They Had Gone Back
Said Do You Know Whom That Was , She Said No
And Said That Was The Batcholers, and That Was
Connie With The Tea , She Was Pleased As Punch For
Weeks After Thanks For The Memories John
