Prince of Wales Summer Lane

Listed as "already closed" by 1930
page 84 : There were at least three pubs that went by the name The Prince of Wales, one was in Summer Lane, just a few doors away from The Vine. It was only a small pub and a man named Whittaker is remembered as the last licencee, before it was closed down.

Walter William Whittaker is listed as a beer retailer at 107 Summer Lane in the directories 1876-1884. He is not there in the 1873 directory. This was presumably a beer house, as he is listed s a beer retailer. On !st Oct 1885 Walter Whittaker aquired the licence of the Tindall Arms, King Edwards Road, which was a fully licensed pub
